Webinars: “Trust in media: Photojournalism in the digital age” where will discuss the role of photojournalists, the challenges many of them are facing and how to mitigate risks to health and safety.

Compelling photographs are central to good story-telling. This panel will explore the role of photojournalists in the digital age and the challenges they face – ethics, diversity, picture manipulation/editing and making their work paid in a competitive market flooded with user-generated images.

13:05 – 14:05: Photojournalists at risk

Photojournalists regularly put themselves at risk because of their jobs. They are easily identified, they carry heavy, often expensive equipment, and by necessity need to be close to the action, all making them particularly vulnerable. Legal restrictions such as security law, data protection law also prevent them from doing their jobs. What can be done to migrate these risks and limitations?
