According to Beltelecom data, foreign websites make 95 per cent of online traffic in Belarus.

The share of Belarusian Internet resources takes up around 5 per cent of the external gateway, said Siarhei Turomsha, the deputy director general on commercial issues of Beltelecom.

The rush hour in traffic consumption falls between 7 pm to 11 pm; the minimum consumption is between 3 am to 7 am. In summer, traffic falls by 30 per cent, which can be accounted for by summer vacations.

The ratio between Russian and other foreign online content has not changed lately and makes around 50 to 50 per cent.

Several years ago, Russian content prevailed, its share amounted up to 70 per cent.

Over 40 of traffic of Belarusian audience is made by resources YouTube, VKontakte and Mail.ru. Users tend to increase the consumption of heavy content,” said Siarhei Turomsha.
