Political prisoner Ihar Losik attempted suicide in the correctional facility, as reported by the Viasna human rights center.
According to its sources, Ihar Losik kept a hunger strike in the punishment cell of Navapolatsk penitentiary and then cut his hands and neck. He was discovered and sent to the medical unit. There were no official comments about the state of the political prisoner.
Ihar Losik was sentenced to 15 years in prison. His wife Daria Losik was also recently convicted and received two years of imprisonment.
