"A parody of justice". Foreign human rights defenders commented on the harsh sentence of the Belarusian journalist
In response to a Belarusian court sentencing journalist Pavel Padabed to four years in prison on Friday, June 30, the Committee to Protect Journalists issued the following statement.

Journalist Pavel Padabed sentenced to 4 years in prison
The journalist and cameraman Pavel Padabed was sentenced to 4 years in prison, as requested by the prosecution. The sentence was pronounced today by the Minsk City Court, reports BAJ.

In 2021 and 2022, the total number of reported cases was 1,432, compared with 1,558 in 2020, according to a report presented in London by BAJ and the Justice for Journalists Foundation. Tatsiana Pytsko extends the list of media representatives behind bars in Belarus. Now it counts 34 journalists
The Belarusian Association of Journalists has learned that Tatsiana Pytsko, the detained wife of Viachaslau Lazarau, a cameraman from Vitsebsk, is accused of alleged cooperation with the Belsat TV channel.
