Belsat journalist Darya Chultsova released after two years in penal colony

Belsat TV journalist Darya Chultsova got released after serving a full two-year sentence in a women’s penal colony in Homiel. She was convicted, along with journalist Katsaryna Andreyeva, for covering the demonstrations in Minsk on November 15, 2020. The authorities accused them of controlling the riots. 27 media representatives remain in prisons in Belarus.

The journalist and head of the Urban Life Center in Hrodna has been in a detention center since 30 August. He was detained for 72 hours.

Ex-TUT.BY journalist Aliaksandr Dzemidovich sentenced to 2.5 years of freedom restriction

The Tsentralny District Court in Minsk sentenced Aliaksandr Dzemidovich, the commercial director of Silver Screen Cinema, to 2.5 years of freedom restriction on charges of gross disorderly conduct (Part 1 Article 342 of the Criminal Code), he told to Mediazona.

Vitsebsk journalist Tatsiana Matsveyeva sentenced to eight days of arrest

The trial took place on August 25 in the Kastrychnitski District Court of Vitsebsk. Judge Uladzimir Tsarykau found Tatsiana Matsveyeva guilty of unauthorized picketing.
