Editor in chief of Russian newspaper criticizes blocking of website of its Belarus version

 The editor in chief of Russia’s Komsomolskaya Pravda has criticized the Belarusian authorities’ move to block the website of the popular newspaper’s Belarus edition over an interview with a former classmate of a Minsk man who was killed during Tuesday’s raid by Committee for State Security (KGB) officers on his apartment.

Information ministry accuses newspaper of producing content threatening national security

The website of the Belarus version of Russia’s newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda has been blocked over content that may create “sources of threats to national security” by artificially stirring up tension and conflict between the public and the government, the information ministry said on Wednesday.

Hrodna.life media website blocked by authorities

On 22 September, Hrodna.life editors received a decision from the Prosecutor’s Office of Hrodna Region. They were informed that Hrodna.life website is blocked and “access to its social media pages is restricted by including the identifier of this Internet resource in the list of restricted access”.

Salihorsk-based publication Lider-Press forced to quit media field after 28 years of activity

Salihorsk public edition Lider-Press has to “finally leave the media field” on October 1 after 28 years of work. Last year the edition covered the presidential election and mass protest actions. In March 2021, the Lider-Press editorial board stopped issuing the print version of the newspaper. In June this year, searches were conducted in apartments of the media founders.
