Volunteers, beginner model, claustrophobia of urban open space, gambling business – these are the topics covered by young photographers within the project of BAJ Molodost. Belarus (Youth. Belarus). One and a half months of creative torments were crowned with the photo exhibition, presented on February 17 at the Literary Museum named after Piatrus Brouka, Minsk. Seven (corrected) series within the photo project will be published daily on the website baj.by and on naviny.by, BelaPAN news agency. The project was curated by Siarhei Balay, photo editor of Naviny.by, and Mikhail Domozhilov (Doc Doc Doc, School of Modern Journalism, Russia).

Yana is eighteen. She wants to work at a laboratory and help humankind. Before it happens, Yana spends her free time at shootings and demonstration shows.
“My looks is quite unusual for fashion modeling, but I gradually improve myself and my skills. I hope I will shine on world-class podiums soon,” says Yana.
She finds backstage a boring and dull part of her work. However, she is keen on the process in spite of all the hardships and pitfalls.
“Fashion business is funny in its essence. But this appeals to me, I cannot explain why,” she admits.
Belarusian fashion business is paid rarely, you work literally for “thank you”. So, Yana is into it just for her own sake and pleasure.
